Porto beats Setubal 3-1 to open title defense

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — FC Porto defeated a 10-man Setubal 3-1 to open its campaign for a fourth straight Portuguese league title Sunday, while main rival Benfica stumbled to a 2-1 loss at Maritimo.
Rafael Martins gave Setubal the lead in the 14th minute, but Josue Soares leveled from the penalty spot in the 49th after Daniel da Silva fouled Porto striker Jackson Martinez. Setubal goalkeeper Pawel Kieszek was sent off with a direct red card moments later.
Juan Quintero then put the visitors ahead in the 61st before Martinez sealed the victory two minutes from time.
Against Benfica, Maritimo struck first through Derly's spot kick in the first-half injury time.
Benfica's Rodrigo Moreno made it 1-1 in the 51st, before Leocifio Sami took the winner for Maritimo in the 78th.
