Registered sex offender gets prison for raping 15-year-old

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A registered sex offender has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports 28-year-old Aliea Rose Brown was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in June. She was given credit for the year she has spent in jail.
Brown, the girl and her mother all told investigators that the mother consented to the relationship despite knowing Brown was a sex offender. Brown, previously known as Albert Brown, was convicted of rape as a juvenile in 2005.
The girl's mother was later charged with felony accountability to rape and pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children. She was given a suspended sentence, but prosecutors say she has since absconded from probation. Her whereabouts are unknown. The Associated Press is not identifying the mother to avoid identifying the girl.
