KENT, Ohio (AP) _ D.J. Bosse had 21 points and Ed Norvell had 15, including four straight free throws in the final 29 seconds, as Kent beat Toledo 70-65 Wednesday night in Mid-American Conference action.
Bosse made eight of 11 shots from the floor, including four 3-pointers, and one of two free throws. Norvell hit just one of five floor shots but 12 of 13 free throws as Kent improved to 7-12 overall and 5-6 in the MAC.
Toledo, which was led by Casey Shaw's 16 points, dropped to 10-9 and 3-8.
Toledo, which led 33-25 at halftime, scored the first basket of the second half on a jumper by Robert Kizer for its biggest lead of the night, 35-25.
Kent responded with a 13-2 run to lead 38-37 with 15:37 to play on Bosse's 3-point shot.
The Golden Flashes went scoreless for nearly four minutes and Toledo ran off nine straight points to lead 46-38 on Shaw's two free throws with 12:11 left.
Kent took the lead for the final time with 2:05 left as Brook Bright's jumper made it 63-61. Norvell hit two free throws with 29 seconds left to put Kent up 67-61 and two more with 17 seconds left to make it 69-63.
