BLUFFTON, Ohio (AP) _ A scaffold collapsed today at a high school marching band camp, injuring 11 people.

The one-story-high platform fell on members of the Vandalia Butler High School band as they practiced on a soccer field at Bluffton College, emergency workers at the scene told The Lima News.

At least three people were on top of the scaffold, from which band directors conduct performances.

One of the injured, Vandalia Butler band director Don Donnette, was flown to a Dayton-area hospital, said Steve Martin, the school district's director of human resources. He had no details. Ten other people were taken by ambulance to other hospitals.

Vandalia Butler High School is in suburban Dayton.

Officials at Bluffton College, about 60 miles south of Toledo, did not have any further information. The marching band camp uses the campus but is not affiliated with the college.
