The Israeli Defense Ministry has released a list of seven ``main terrorists'' that it alleges are responsible for attacks during the current violence. Israel called on the Palestinian Authority to arrest them. But Palestinian leaders say they have no intention of doing so, and demanded that Israel arrest Israelis involved in vigilante attacks against Palestinians.

The seven Palestinian men are:

_ Raed Mohammed Karmi, 27, an activist in Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, is accused of killing two Israeli businessmen who were shopping in the West Bank town of Tulkarem in January.

_ Thabet Azmi Mardawi, 25, an Islamic Jihad activist from a village near Jenin in the West Bank. Mardawi was allegedly involved in organizing two bombings in Israel, a suicide bombing in Hadera on May 25 and bombing in Binyamina on July 16.

_ Mahmoud Ahmed Tualba, 22, an Islamic Jihad activist from near Jenin, who is also accused of involvement in the Hadera and Binyamina bombings.

_ Kamel Najib Abu-Wa'ar, 27, from the Balata refugee camp in Nabuls, a member of the Palestinian Force 17 security service, who is accused of involvement in several shooting attacks.

_ Ahad Youssef Alameh, 33, of Ramallah in the West Bank, a senior activist in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, or PFLP, accused of involvement in two car bombings in Jerusalem in February and March.

_ Mousa Mohammed Kulab, 30, of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, a Hamas activist allegedly involved in many mortar attacks on Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip.
