DURBAN, South Africa (AP) _ A judge sentenced a convicted serial killer Wednesday to 506 years in prison after he was found guilty of 16 slayings and other charges.

Judge Vivienne Niles-Duner said Sipho Agmatir Twala, 31, had shown no remorse for having killed at least 16 people, most of whom he murdered after luring them into sugarcane fields in a rural area of KwaZulu-Natal province, located in eastern South Africa along the Indian Ocean.

Twala was also found guilty of one charge of attempted murder, seven of indecent assault and three of rape.
