FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Larry Jackson had 24 points, including a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left, as Liberty defeated Cal Poly-SLO 67-65 Friday night in the first round of the Coors Light Classic.

Peter Aluma added 17 points and five blocked shots for the Flames (2-0). Shanta Cotright had 12 points to lead the Mustangs (2-1).

Liberty will face the winner of the Northeastern-Fresno State game in Saturday's tournament final.

Liberty was leading 62-60 when Aluma fouled out with 2:55 remaining. Ross Ketcham hit two free throws to tie the game, and Ben Larson added two more to give the Mustangs a 64-62 lead.

Walter Graham scored inside for Liberty to tie the game again, and Damien Levesque hit one of two foul shots to give Cal Poly the lead with 43 seconds left.

The Flames then worked the ball around until Jackson got an open shot at the top of the key, and he hit his eighth 3-pointer of the game. Jackson who missed all six of his shots inside the arc, was 8-of-9 from 3-point range.

After a missed shot, the Mustangs were forced to foul and Jay Boykin missed two foul shots for Liberty with four seconds left. But Graham stole a pass and dribbled out the clock for the Flames.
