TIVERTON, R.I. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been charged by Rhode Island police as part of a nationwide FBI probe into underage human trafficking.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jerry Isme, of Boston, was arraigned on charges of sex trafficking of a minor on Oct. 13. The arrest was part of national human trafficking investigation called Operation Cross Country.
FBI officials say Isme was arrested after police found a 16-year-old girl in Tiverton. The FBI says Tiverton police and Rhode Island State Police assisted in the arrest. Authorities didn't provide any other details.
Isme is currently being held in Cranston until his next court appearance.
