HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a New York City man who fled a traffic stop was found dead beneath the Palisades Cliffs in New Jersey.
Officials are awaiting autopsy results to determine how 21-year-old Denian Melo died.
The Bergen County prosecutor's office says Melo was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee on Tuesday as part of a narcotics investigation. Officials say he fled on foot while the other occupants of the vehicle remained on scene and were not charged.
His body was found Wednesday near Henry Hudson Drive.
