SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) _ Little League Baseball Inc. received a $250,000 grant from Pennsylvania to help pay for enhanced security at the Little League World Series.
Little League spokesman Lance Van Auken said Thursday the money would help pay for a fence being built around the Little League complex and other security measures.
The grant came from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
Nearly 300,000 people attended the Little League World Series last year, including more than 44,000 on the final day for the championship and consolation games.
This year's series is Aug. 16-25.
