ST. LOUIS (AP) — A stolen car that police say a killer was driving when he gunned down a teen on his 17th birthday has been found torched in suburban St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police announced Wednesday that the 2009 four-door Pontiac G8 was found near a stretch of railroad tracks in Spanish Lake. The discovery was made after police released surveillance images of the car that was taken in a carjacking and then used in the shooting of Armond Latimore on Saturday. About an hour before the shooting, Latimore posted online that he was glad to make it to his birthday after all he'd been through.
Police haven't released information about a motive. It isn't clear whether the carjacker is the same person who killed Latimore.
