LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska authorities are warning motorists about cinder blocks hidden inside of cattle feed bags on rural roads.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that sheriff's offices have received reports of the 30-pound blocks appearing on roads in Fillmore and Thayer counties in southeast Nebraska.

Officials say the bags may appear to be empty or harmless to motorists, but are dangerous. In one case, a driver found an empty bag not far from an empty box and a bag that held a block, when the road had been clear an hour earlier.

Fillmore County Sheriff William Burgess says it appears that whoever is planting the blocks is trying to cause an accident.
