NEW YORK (AP) _ A baby was drowned and her mother was stabbed to death in an apartment where police also found a man hanged, authorities said Tuesday.
The three bodies were discovered around 2:30 a.m. in an apartment in the Jackson Heights section of Queens, said police Sgt. Michael Accurso.
Rosa Uruchima, 28, had been stabbed three times in the chest, police said.
Her 7-month-old baby, Addriana Uruchima, was found drowned in the bathtub, according to the office of Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
The man, who was in his 40s but had not yet been identified, was found hanging from a pipe in the bathroom, police said.
Authorities would not say whether the consider the case a murder-suicide.
The bodies were discovered by relatives who broke down the door after two of Uruchima's other children, ages 8 and 10, could not get in, police said.
Uruchima and the man had apparently been living together in the apartment for at least the last year, the district attorney's office said.
Downstairs neighbor Lucia Victoriano said she did not hear any unusual noises.
``The lady was a good person,'' Victoriano said.
The man, who worked at a club across the street, had broken up a fight between the woman and her ex-husband in December, officials said.
