Einhorn Loses Extradition Appeal
Jul. 12, 2001
PARIS (AP) _ American Ira Einhorn lost his last-chance appeal Thursday of an extradition order that would return him to the United States, where he was convicted of the killing of his girlfriend more than two decades ago.
The case before the Council of State, France's highest administrative body, was the former anti-war activist's last available appeal under French law. Einhorn's defense lawyers have said he could be arrested immediately after the decision.
