Two More Cited in N. Carolina Brawl

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) _ Police have arrested a third suspect on assault charges and issued a warrant against a fourth in the post-Halloween brawl involving North Carolina basketball players Ed Cota and Terrence Newby.
Trayon Lamont Bolden, 25, was charged by university police with assault for inflicting serious injury, a misdemeanor, after he surrendered Tuesday.
An arrest warrant was issued for Edward Franklin Capel, who was charged with misdemeanor simple assault. Authorities said he was out of town. Bolden and Capel are roommates and do not attend the university.
Cota and Newby have been charged with three counts each of assault inflicting serious injury and two counts of simple assault, all misdemeanors. They have been suspended from the basketball team.
Newby said he and Cota were trying to break up a fight involving their friends and another group.
But the three alleged victims, all students, said that they were beaten at least two different times on campus by a group that included Cota, Newby, Bolden and Capel.
David Spaulding said he was knocked unconscious and left with bruised ribs and blurred vision in his left eye. Godwin Ogunmefun had cuts to his lips closed with 18 stitches. Tracy Monroe said his knuckles were bruised and his right wrist was sprained.
