MIAMI (AP) _ Florida Panthers left wing Peter Worrell was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Worrell was pulled over by deputies with the Broward County Sheriff's Office and was arrested last Sunday on suspicion of DUI, causing property damage and leaving the scene of an accident. Worrell also had expired license plates and was unable to show proof of insurance.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office did not immediately return a page Saturday. A message left with the Panthers was not immediately returned Saturday.
Worrell posted a $1,500 bond and was released that same day.
The rugged enforcer has one year left on his contract with the Panthers. He had only four goals and five assists with 354 penalty minutes in 79 games last season.
