Wizards' Stackhouse to Miss Game
Jan. 13, 2003
WASHINGTON (AP)_ Wizards guard Jerry Stackhouse will miss Tuesday's game against the Raptors with a pulled left groin.
Stackhouse didn't practice Monday. He also could be out Thursday against Orlando, Washington general manager Wes Unseld said.
``His groin is pretty swollen, so I don't know what his status will be,'' coach Doug Collins said.
Michael Jordan will be counted on to pick up some of the scoring slack for Stackhouse, whose 22.5-point average leads the Wizards.
``Collectively I think we have to pick up for the loss of Jerry for that one game,'' Jordan said. ``I know everybody's going to focus on me, which is natural. But my job is to invite and involve everybody else so that it's not me only. I think it's going to be a good test for this team to play without Jerry for one game.''
