San Jose Police have arrested a man in the shooting of two off-duty Oakland firefighters that killed one.

KTVU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2xb0LLs ) that 27-year-old Oliver Juinio was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Fire officials say the firefighters, ages 26 and 30, were both shot in San Jose Thursday around 9:40 p.m. after leaving an event.

Oakland Fire Battalion Chief Melinda Drayton says the two were confronted by a group of men as they left.

Drayton says the 26-year-old was stable on Friday after suffering one gunshot wound, while 30-year-old Jake Walter was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

San Jose police say at least one person has been detained in the shooting of two off-duty Oakland firefighters that left one dead.

Officials say Friday they have no information to release on the suspect.
