DETROIT (AP) _ Marshall Holman, Medford, Ore., moved back into the lead for the fourth time after seven rounds of the $135,000 Professional Bowlers Association Budweiser Touring Players Championship Friday.

Holman, despite having the highest average on the PBA tour this year with 216.75, is looking for his first victory of 1987 and the 21st of his career. Holman's pinfall for 48 games, including 30 bonus pins for each match game he wins, is 10,701.

Left-hander Scott Devers, of Centerville, Ind., who led after the first and sixth rounds, slipped to second place with pinfall of 10,662

A win here for Devers will make him the only bowler in 1987 to capture three PBA crowns.

Ron Palombi Jr., of Erie, Pa., moved into third spot after knocking down 10,543 pins.

Palombi is looking for his second title in less than a month.

Tom Crites, Tampa, Fla., the winner of this year's Atlantic City stop, holds fourth place with 10,542 pins.

Rookie Todd Thompson, Reno, Nev., rounds out the top five with a 10,536 pinfall.
