DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a plane made an emergency landing in a motorsports park in a rural area of Georgia.
Media outlets report that the Dawsonville Fire Department says the small, single-engine plane had just refueled in Gainesville and began experiencing mechanical issues that forced it to land Monday morning in Dawson County.
Authorities told local TV stations the emergency landing happened at the Atlanta Motorsports Park around 8:30 a.m.
The pilot, who was the only person aboard the plane, was hospitalized and is listed in serious but stable condition.
