TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) _ Dominique Canty scored 19 points to surpass the 2,000-point mark for her career in leading No. 19 Alabama to a 78-51 victory over Mississippi on Thursday night.
The Crimson Tide (11-5, 1-3 Southeastern Conference) outscored Ole Miss (11-5, 2-3) 43-20 in the second half.
Canty became the third Alabama player to score 2,000 points, eclipsing the plateau with 13 minutes left in the game.
Latoya Caudle made 8-of-10 shots for a career-high 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Tide. Latrish Jones chipped in 14 points and nine boards and Kaunda Williams had 10 points.
Becky Myatt led Ole Miss with 17 points while Tarsha Bethley added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Alabama outrebounded Ole Miss 53-31 and held the Rebels to 18 percent shooting (6-for-33) in the second half.
The Tide led only 35-31 at halftime, but opened the second half on a 22-7 spurt to push the lead to 21 points with 8:46 left in the game.
Alabama was off to an 0-3 SEC start for the first time since 1988-89 and had lost three straight league games for the first time under coach Rick Moody.
