ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Greg Paslawski scored at the 4:01 mark of overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 NHL victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday night.

Paslawski took a pass from Doug Gilmour from the side of the net and beat Toronto goaltender Ken Wregget low on the stick side for his 23rd goal. Bernie Federko also assisted on the play for his third point of the game.

Bill Root's goal at 4:57 of the third period tied the game 2-2 for Toronto. St. Louis had taken a 2-1 lead at 3:10 of the third period when Brian Benning scored his 10th goal on a slapshot from the left point. Federko recorded an assist for his 900th NHL point. Canadiens 5, North Stars 4

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) - Mike McPhee scored twice in the third period and Mats Naslund had four assists as the Montreal Canadiens held on for a 5-4 victory over the Minnesota North Stars.

McPhee scored twice in the opening 3:45 of the third period to make it 5-2. Minnesota's Dennis Maruk scored at 5:34 and 15:00 to get Minnesota within 5-4.

Claude Lemieux Brian Skrudland and Kjell Dahlin also scored for Montreal. Bob Brooke and Dirk Graham added goals for Minnesota.
