LILLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies say a second body has been found as they investigated an earlier death in North Carolina.

Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats told media outlets the first body was found around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

The body of 39-year-old Marcus Lester Fisher of Dunn was found in the backyard of a home in Coats. Deputies investigating that Fisher's death found the body of a woman in Broadway, about 20 miles (30 kilometers) away, around 6:30 p.m.

Coats did not say how the deaths were related or how they died.

The woman's name has not been released.

Two people have been charged with failure to report Fisher's death. They are 33-year-old robin Chalmers Brown of Lillington, and 37-year-old Michael Todd Denning of Coats. It was not known if they have lawyers.
