PHOENIX (AP) — A former Phoenix strip club manager has been sentenced for trying to cover up the beating death of an off-duty firefighter.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Timothy John Piegari was sentenced Friday to two years and three months for tampering with physical evidence.

The sentencing was part of a plea agreement. Piegari was initially also charged with hindering prosecution.

Prosecutors say surveillance video from the January 2017 altercation outside Centerfolds Cabaret showed Brandon Draper, a club bouncer, pushing 37-year-old Luke Jones to the ground. Draper then proceeded to hit Jones numerous times on the head and Piegari disconnected the video.

The 28-year-old Draper was sentenced in May to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

Jones was a firefighter with the Daisy Mountain Fire Department.
