TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian state TV is reporting two people have been killed in what is being labeled a terrorist attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
Press TV quotes police commander Hossein Rahimi as saying that two masked men on a motorcycle killed the pair in separate attacks Thursday night in the city of Sarbaz.
The first victim was a Sunni, who was a member of the Basij forces— a paramilitary wing of the powerful Revolutionary Guards. The second victim, a Shiite schoolteacher, was killed about 200 meters from the site of the first attack.
It is unclear what, if any, connection exists between the two victims. Rahimi said police, Revolutionary Guards and the Intelligence Ministry are investigating the incident.
