LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The Los Angeles Galaxy claimed forward Henry Zambrano on Thursday and immediately traded him to D.C. United.

In exchange, United will forgo remaining future considerations from the Chris Albright trade of seven months ago.

Zambrano was signed by Major League Soccer earlier this week and claimed by the Galaxy after five other teams didn't sign him.

``Henry is a technically gifted forward who has solid professional and international experience,'' United technical director Dave Kasper said. ``We look for Henry to make a quick transition into our team.''

The 29-year-old Zambrano began his MLS career in 1999 with the MetroStars and also played for the Colorado Rapids.
