NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Police say a Newark man has been arrested and charged in the robbery of a bank branch inside a grocery store.
The News Journal reported Saturday that 47-year-old Clarence L. Conner Jr. faces two counts of first-degree robbery, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and three counts of terroristic threatening.
The robbery at a Newark Citizens Bank branch happened Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Lt. Fred Nelson says the robber presented a note to a teller demanding money and implying he was armed with a gun. He says the robber then confronted a second teller, demanded money and fled.
The newspaper reports Conner was booked into the Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $108,000 cash bail. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
