BIG LAKE, Alaska (AP) — State prosecutors have charged a 38-year-old Wasilla man with first-degree murder in the death of his wife.

Anthony Smith was arrested Tuesday and charged in the death of 37-year-old Amy Smith. She died Monday at a home in Big Lake.

Alaska State Troopers say they are reviewing their response in the case.

Troopers were summoned to the home in response to a disturbance at 2:18 a.m.

About three hours later, troopers and emergency medical personnel returned to find Amy Smith receiving CPR.

She died and troopers say an autopsy revealed the death was a homicide.

The cause of death was not immediately released.

Anthony Smith was arraigned Wednesday in Palmer. His bail is set at $250,000.

Online court documents do not list his attorney.
