HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A Huntsville woman is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to stealing more than $100,000.

WAAY-TV reports 42-year-old Joan Marie Chandler pleaded guilty to one count of theft of government funds by filing fraudulent tax returns.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama says Chandler illegally received $107,707 from a total of 10 refund transfers from February 2015 to April 2015. Investigators say the transfers went to Branch Banking and Trust, Wells Fargo and PNC. PNC seized more than $38,000 from Chandler's account, and the money was returned to the U.S. Treasury.

Chandler is awaiting sentencing in April. She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
