TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Gergana Branzova scored 33 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to lead Florida International to an 83-68 win over No. 10 Georgia on Friday night.
``We were awful early on and they did exactly what we thought they'd do,'' Georgia coach Andy Landers said. ``They did exactly what they wanted to do. We didn't defend them one bit.''
FIU (3-0) led 51-35 at halftime and expanded the lead to 20 points early in the second half. But Georgia (3-1) went on a 14-2 run to cut the lead to 62-54 with 7:38 remaining.
FIU responded with an 11-3 run, keyed by a 3-pointer from Crystal Jenkins and four points from Maesha Freeney, to put the game out of reach.
The Golden Panthers got 18 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds from Dalma Ivanyi.
Kelly Miller led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points and six rebounds. Pam Irwin added 15 points.
FIU outrebounded Georgia 46-35 and shot 46.3 percent from the field to Georgia's 35.4 percent.
