GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A 17-year-old South Carolina teen is sentenced to 15 years in adult prison for killing one teenager and wounding another.

Solicitor Walt Wilkins announced Wednesday that Delamonta Dobbs of Greenville pleaded to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder under an Alford plea, which means he doesn't admit his guilt but agrees the state has enough evidence to convict him at trial.

Prosecutors say Dobbs fatally shot 18-year-old Ty'meir Wharton in the early hours of June 11, 2016, and wounded then-14-year-old William Smith on a Greenville street.

Dobbs was 16 at the time of the shooting but prosecuted as an adult.

He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
