Arm Wrestling OK in Swedish Schools

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) _ Instead of fighting in the hallway, a Swedish school principal wants students to settle their differences with arm wrestling.
John Rittenberg, principal of the Transtenskolan in Hallsberg, 125 miles southwest of Stockholm, said his school has set up a pair of arm wrestling tables in the cafeteria, along with a list ranking the top student wrestlers.
``I believe there will be less aggression'' at the school of more than 500 students in grades 7-9, he said. Rittenberg said students initially proposed the idea.
On Monday, Sweden's three-time female arm wrestling champion Heidi Andersson spoke to the school's students and teachers about the sport. Afterward, she took on a few of the kids and the teachers, too.
``She was as strong as a bull,'' Rittenberg said.
