MADRID (AP) — A Spanish state prosecutor has charged Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo with defrauding Spain's tax office of 14.7 million euros ($16.5 million) in unpaid taxes. In a statement released Tuesday, Madrid's regional state prosecutor accused Ronaldo of four accounts of tax fraud from 2011-14.

BEIJING (AP) — The International Olympic Committee is "very happy" with Beijing's preparations for the 2022 Winter Games, amid assurances that the main venues will be completed three years before the events are held. Beijing is drawing largely on its success staging the 2008 Summer Olympics, including reusing much of the original infrastructure. Organizers say the main venues and supporting facilities will be in place by the end of 2019.

MIAMI (AP) — Miami-area officials want the U.S. Coast Guard to install lights on the jetty where Marlins star Jose Fernandez crashed his boat, killing himself and two others. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez said today that the jetty where Fernandez crashed posed a serious threat to boaters. The Miami-Dade Police Department made the recommendation for lights.
