CLEVELAND (AP) _ Kenny Woseley scored 17 points and Akron held Cleveland State's starters to 25 percent shooting as the Zips beat the Vikings 77-52 Monday night.

Ali Kart and Jarvis Catron added 12 points apiece for Akron (2-1). Leonidas Skoutaris came off the bench to lead Cleveland State (1-3) with 10 points.

Akron scored the first eight points of the game. After Eric Nichelson tipped in a missed shot to make it 8-2 with 17:03 left, the Zips went on a 10-0 spurt to lead 18-2 with 14:07 to play.

Akron led 41-21 at halftime and widened its lead to 68-38 with 4:48 left in the second half.

Cleveland State's starters shot 12-for-48, including 1-for-13 by Derrick Zeigler and 1-for-12 by Joe Rey. Cleveland State's shooting allowed Akron to take a 36-18 edge in defensive rebounds.

The Zips shot 52 percent for the game. The Vikings shot 30 percent.
