LOS ANGELES (AP) _ A federal judge ordered Los Angeles Magazine to pay $270,000 of Dustin Hoffman's legal fees for publishing a picture of the actor's head on the body of a cross-dressing man.

Hoffman's attorneys had sought $415,000.

Hoffman, 61, sued over the March 1997 fashion layout in which his face, as it appeared in ``Tootsie,'' was computer-grafted onto the body of a male model wearing a yellow evening gown and heels.

A federal judge in January ordered the magazine to pay Hoffman $3 million in damages. The publication's parent, ABC Inc., plans to appeal that judgment.
