FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) _ E.J. Watson gained 210 yards on 35 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Colorado State to a 34-32 Western Athletic Conference victory over Fresno State on Saturday.

Colorado State (2-4, 2-1 WAC) broke away from a 24-24 tie in the fourth period on a 1-yard keeper by Erich Prahl and an 18-yard field goal by David Napier.

Fresno State (3-2, 1-1) cut it to 34-32 with 1:46 to play on Ron Rivers' 2- yard scoring run, set up by Trent Dilfer's 22-yard pass to Charlie Jones. Dilfer's 2-point conversion pass cut the margin to two points.

The Bulldogs failed to recover an onside kick, but forced a punt and took over on their 10 with 46 seconds to play.

Dilfer marched the Bulldogs to the Colorado State 48 where, with 1 second left, Derek Mahoney lined up for a 55-yard field goal attempt. Colorado State's Greg Myers blocked the kick.

Colorado State took a 10-0 first-quarter lead on a 22-yard field goal by Napier and Prahl's 26-yard pass to Paul Turner.

Dilfer threw a 4-yard TD pass to Lee Harris to bring the Bulldogs to 10-7, but Colorado State regained a 10-point edge when Myers returned a punt 64 yards to set up a 13-yard scoring run by Watson.

Dilfer's 15-yard pass to Anthony Daigle with 1 second left cut Colorado State's halftime lead to 17-14.

Fresno tied it 24-24 on Dilfer's third TD pass, an 8-yarder to Daigle in the fourth period.
