HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) _ The New York Jets re-signed quarterback Jamie Martin on Monday.

Martin signed with the Jets on Aug. 26 but was released last week before the season opener against Washington for financial reasons. He spent the last two seasons with the St. Louis Rams.

In his eight-year NFL career, Martin has completed 199 of 310 passes for 2,141 yards, 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He is the No. 3 quarterback with the Jets behind starter Vinny Testaverde and backup Brooks Bollinger.
