General Electric Co., down 68 cents at $23.82
J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. cut the Dow component's stock to underweight from neutral, and cut its 2003 estimates.
The Gap Inc., up 59 cents at $14.49
The clothing retailer reported third-quarter profit that beat Wall Street's recently raised expectations.
Gateway Inc., down 44 cents at $3.75
The computer maker disclosed that it has been under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission since December 2000. Gateway said it doesn't expect the SEC inquiry to have a material impact on its current financial position.
Dell Computer Corp., down $1.56 at $29.38
The computer company reported a 31 percent jump in third-quarter earnings that met analysts' expectations, but issued a cautious outlook on its fourth-quarter.
