Wife Charged in Pastor's Death
Jun. 16, 1999
LARGO, Fla. (AP) _ A pastor's wife stabbed him to death in the groin with a butcher knife early today in an argument over his infidelity, police said.
Carrie Rousonelos, 35, was charged with murder in the slaying of Anthony Rousonelos, the 42-year-old pastor of Faith Assembly of God Church in St. Petersburg.
``From my understanding, he admitted to the infidelity and the argument ensued from there and the rest, as they say, is history,'' said police spokesman Mac Williams.
The couple had three children _ twin 10-year-old boys and a 13-year old girl. Two were visiting an aunt, and one was at home at the time.
Neighbor Susan Cooper said Rousonelos came by her home Tuesday and told her and her boyfriend that his church had placed him on probation for two years because of his infidelity. The pastor said he had just told his wife about the affair, Ms. Cooper said.
