Okubo leads Kawasaki to 3-1 win over Kashiwa in J-League

TOKYO (AP) — Yoshito Okubo scored a goal and assisted on another as Kawasaki Frontale pulled to within one point of J-League leaders Urawa Reds with a 3-1 win over Kashiwa Reysol on Sunday.
Eduardo Neto put Kawasaki on the scoresheet with his first goal of the season early in the first half.
Shinnosuke Nakatani struck the lone goal for Kashiwa in the 30th minute and Okubo gave the visitors the lead for good seven minutes after the break with his 163rd career goal, re-writing his own J-League record for most goals.
Okubo then set up Yu Kobayashi who volleyed home his fifth goal of the campaign in the 55th minute as Kawasaki improved to 24 points from 11 games, one point behind Urawa, which defeated Omiya Ardija 1-0.
In other matches, Peter Utaka scored twice to lead defending champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima to a 3-0 win over Sagan Tosu, and Gamba Osaka were held to a 0-0 draw by Albirex Niigata.
Vissel Kobe edged Nagoya Grampus 1-0 while Yokohama F Marinos drew 2-2 with Ventforet Kofu. Vegalta Sendai beat Avispa Fukuoka 2-0.
Third-place Kashima Antlers earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Jubilo Iwata.
