FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Michael Gray rushed for 129 yards and Michael Pittman added 108 on Saturday night, leading lead Fresno State to a 20-0 Western Athletic Conference victory over Hawaii.

Fresno State (1-3 overall, 1-1 WAC) recorded its first shutout since 1989, while Hawaii (1-4, 0-2) has yet to score in a conference game this season.

Gray scored on a 23-yard run in the first quarter and Jim Arellanes threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Scott Thompson early in the second quarter to give the Bulldogs a 13-0 halftime lead.

Brian Roberson finished the scoring with a 62-yard punt return late in the third quarter. Roberson also caught six passes for 103 yards.

Fresno State's defense dominated Hawaii, allowing just 176 yards in total offense, including only 42 yards in the second half.
