Giants' Williams May Return Soon

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) _ An MRI on New York Giants center Brian Williams found no significant ligament damage Tuesday, and there is a chance he can return to the lineup in a few weeks.
Williams was hurt in the first half of Sunday's 41-28 win over the New York Jets. Derek Engler will replace him at center.
Fullback Charles Way was placed on the injured list on Tuesday and rookie safety Tre Thomas was waived for the third straight week.
Way battled a chronic knee condition all season, and he will undergo surgery soon. He last played against Arizona two weeks ago.
Thomas has played the last two games on special teams. Each time, he spent the week on the practice squad and was signed to the active roster on the Friday before the games.
