Tennessee Tech beats Austin Peay 42-24

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ladarius Vanlier ran for three touchdowns and made a reception for another score as Tennessee Tech beat Austin Peay 42-24 on Saturday.
Vanlier rushed for 131 yards on 11 carries for the Golden Eagles (3-7, 2-5 Ohio Valley Conference). Brock McCoin was 8 of 12 for 206 yards passing and three touchdowns and also rushed for 115 yards.
McCoin hit Krys Cates from 13 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter and Vanlier ran for two more scores before the break and Tennessee Tech trailed 24-21 at halftime.
A 51-yard touchdown run by Vanlier put the Golden Eagles up 28-24 early in the third quarter. McCoin hit Cates again for a 46-yard touchdown and Vanlier from 69 yards for another score early in the fourth. Austin Peay was held scoreless in the second half.
Trey Taylor finished with 208 yards passing and two touchdowns for the Governors (0-11, 0-8).
