Central Nebraska power district to offer eagle-watching

HOLDREGE, Neb. (AP) — The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District will again provide eagle-watching sites to the public this winter.
The Grand Island Independent reports that the regular viewing season will begin Dec. 23 at the district's J-2 Hydroplant south of Lexington and its facility below Kingsley Dam on the east side of Lake McConaughy. The sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through the last weekend in February.
The best viewing time is normally earlier in the day. There is no charge to visit the facilities.
