VICTOR, N.Y. (AP) _ A charter bus crashed on a state highway Sunday, killing five people, police said.
Forty-four people were on board the Arrowhead Coach USA bus, which was traveling from Niagara Falls to Waterbury, Ct. Two other vehicles also wrecked.
Other passengers were being evaluated by medical personnel, but the severity of the injuries wasn't immediately known.
Ambulances and medical helicopters were on the scene on the New York State Thruway, 16 miles south of Rochester.
The driver indicated he had a diabetic condition, which may have played a part in the accident, state police Maj. Mark Fisher said.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. The bus went off the road, flipped over and landed on its roof, according to a state police dispatcher.
