NEW YORK (AP) _ Ali Hufane of the Warren Street Athletic Club, a former standout at Fairleigh Dickinson, won the Art Carved Cross Country Classic in 15 minutes, 55 seconds, Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park.

Paul Mascali of the New York AC trailed Hufane by 50 yards in 16:05. He was followed by Jim Shields of Witold's Runners, a former star at William & Mary, in 16:10, in the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race.

Alicia Moss of the Atoms Track Club and formerly of Oklahoma, was the women's winner in 18:38. Cookie Cruz of the West Side YMCA finished a distant second in 20:11.
