Dec. 23, 2015
STOUGHTON, Mass. (AP) — Fire officials say a construction worker was hospitalized after part of a cinder block wall fell on top of him at a work site in Stoughton.
A slab of 15 cinder blocks fell on the 36-year-old man around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday while he was working on a scissor lift at a warehouse in Stoughton.
Fire Capt. Jackson Macomber says the victim was trying to take down the wall in small pieces when the slab, which weighed hundreds of pounds, toppled over.
The man was transported by helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. His condition is unknown, but officials say he was conscious at the scene.
The Occupational Safety & Health Administration is investigating.
