INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Laffit Pincay Jr., who is 22 shy of Bill Shoemaker's career record of 8,833 riding victories, will open the Hollywood Park autumn meeting with four mounts Wednesday.

Pincay, 52, will need to average about two wins every three days during the 31-day meet that runs through Dec. 20.

The five-time Eclipse Award winner and seven-time national riding champion has won 130 races in 1999, 32 during Hollywood Park's spring-summer meeting.

The autumn meet, the track's first under new owner Churchill Downs, will feature the $2.1 million Turf Festival Nov. 26-28.
