KIEV, Ukraine (AP) _ A locksmith allegedly tried to shut down a nuclear reactor at Ukraine's Rivne atomic power plant, a news agency said Saturday. No radiation leaks were reported, and the man was detained.
The locksmith, who worked at the plant, tried to close down reactor No. 2 Friday night, causing a safety system to switch on at one of the reactor's turbine sections, the UNIAN news agency said.
Police were investigating possible motives and sent the man for a psychiatric evaluation, the report said.
