MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Port Adelaide kicked eight first-quarter goals and six more by halftime on its way to a 20.12 (132) to 11.9 (75) win over Richmond in an Australian Football League elimination playoff match Sunday.

North Melbourne beat Essendon 14.9 (93) to 12.9 (81) on Saturday, ending the Bombers' season.

The win earned North Melbourne a matchup with Geelong in next Friday's second round, while Port Adelaide plays Fremantle next Saturday.

Sydney beat Fremantle 13.15 (93) to 10.9 (69) to advance to the last four along with defending champions Hawthorn, who beat Geelong 15.14 (104) to 10.8 (68).

Hawthorn and Sydney have next weekend off and will meet the winners of the second-round matches on Sept. 20-21.

The grand final will be played Sept. 27 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
